#1 cracks me up, and there's a lot of great technique in these! I like the animated "Welcome To San Pedro" icon, and the blooming stars over the tattooed man. Plus, #11 is really eye-catching. :D
Thanks for the nice words (especially since you don't know the fandoms-lol.) I've been trying to do lots of different stuff to get practice at it, because before about 10 days ago, all I could really do in p/s was crop/re-size and maybe brightness/contrast- seriously my stuff sucked. So I'm proud of figuring this much out, and I tend to brag a bit.
You are awesome...as are your icons! Are you using real photoshop or some faux photoshop? I used to have an old version of real photoshop but then my computer crashed. Now I just have something fake & it never lets me do the things I want to (of course that could just be me!). If you do have real Photoshop...where did you get it?
Also, completely OT, but what's up with the glitch_wyatt drama? (I saw that you had commented on the mods post.) I step away from a fandom for a few weeks & things go crazy! I'm going to have to go back & read old posts tonight because now I'm curious... :)
Thanks! Yes, it's real photoshop CS2 that my honey ....found....somewhere for me. However I've heard that gimp is really good- some say better that P/S and it is free. It does animations also, so maybe you could try that.
As for the drama- I probably should have just stayed out of it. They were having 'author appreciation week' and that's what the original post was about. Now maybe the OP *did* mis-understand the idea of AAW, but that's the guise it was posted under, and the 1st 2 comments she got were 'this doesn't belong here, put it in your personal journal.' That was very rude IMO and since they were not the mods, also none of their business. And when the OP tried to 'fight back,' saying well so-and-so and so-and-so posted the same kind of stuff, they responded with 'well, their stuff was small and linked to their own journal.'
Now, IMO anything you don't want to read on your flist, just skip it- I mean for fuck's sake somedays I skip 90% of what's on there. If no one wanted to read her stuff, skip it, don't demand she remove it or imply she has no right to post it when the mods said 'hey everyone it's AAW.'
So when she got jumped on by everyone, she posted again saying good bye and fuck off (basically) and the VERY FIRST comment she got was by the same woman saying again 'this belongs in your personal journal.'
That's the part that pissed me off- how could you tell people goodby if they don't see your post cause they aren't on your flist? And no matter what she said to me in her comment to what I said, the very fact that she repeated herself word for word after all that wank was sarcastic and asshole-ish and bitchy. And like the mods said, that post did in fact belong there, and probably both were fine.
And others were saying she was being all emotional and attention whore-ish (not their exact words) which is the only reason she posted the second time. Which is not nice and *not* helpful at all to the situation.
If I got jumped on by a bunch of people like that I would certainly not go back (because in actual fact what I like to call bragging- like 'go read my fics and love me for my icons'- is really insecurity about my abilities, and begging for love) and I know I would freak the fuck out and possibly post something like that too.
Anyway- tl;dr? lol....

Ok, thanks for explaining, that's pretty much what I got the gist of. I feel the same way as you. I didn't read the posts or comments, but if someone *does* post something that shouldn't be in a community, it's up to the mods to deal with it, not members.
